Excerpt from THE HEALING OF SORROW
We shall remember not his death, but his daily victories gained through his kindnesses and thoughtfulness, through his love for family and friends, for animals and books and music, for all things beautiful, lovely and honorable. We shall remember the many days that he was victorious over overwhelming odds. We shall remember not the years we thought he had left, but the intensity with which he lived the years he had! Only God knows what this child of His suffered in the silent skirmishes that took place in his soul. But our consolation is that God does know and understands!"
~By Norman Vincent Peale
In Memoriam
All the words and even prayers can not,
Do not ease the deep pain of this
Never-should-have-happened thing
That should not have taken from your very heart of hearts
That sweet kind boy your mommy and daddy hearts
Were bound together with for all time and places and realms
That sweet kind boy who loved not just rocks and LEGOs
But all the good cats and all the good dogs
And other beasties great and small
And an angel-voiced girl with a tender soul
As well as the very Creation they inhabited during their stays
All singing humming purring barking laughing
The music of the spheres that fills the Heavens
In its perfection of beauty and pain and longing and love-
Now all at peace: whole. safe. healed.
Held in the embrace of a God
Who has ragged scars in His own hands.

Atmospheric waves, rolling through
The hours of my day.
Listening to the sounds. Speak to me.
Is this what I should say?
Can I feel what’s real? Can I feel
What’s right for today?
Atmospheric waves, rolling through
The hours of my day.
Feel the touch of light
I turn, it beckons me to see.
All there is around, beside, And in front of me.
Do I let it in? Do I see?
And not turn away?
Atmospheric waves
Rolling through the hours of my day.
Listen, come back, stay?
Listen, soon you’re away.
The waves of change will say…
Find your way.
Atmospheric waves, rolling through
The hours of the day.
Gently nudging me, towards a place
Wishing I could stay.
Treasure the mundane, revel in
Every little smile.
Sunshine from the past, crossing moments
But far too many miles.
Go back into time, find the joy,
And bring it to today.
Bring the memories forward,
So that they can stay.
Look ahead, look behind. Signs,
Passing through the veil.
Forever and for always,
Our love will always sail.
Listen, come back, stay?
Listen, soon you’re away.
The waves of change will say…
Find your way.
Wind upon my soul. Holding back?
Or leading me to change?
Guiding me along. Showing me
The path that I can take.
Will I look beyond?
Or will I choose to stay?
Atmospheric waves, rolling through
The hours of my day.
Listen, come back, stay?
Listen, soon you’re away.
The waves of change will say…
Find your way.
Find your way.
